The Next Event.....

Dear Stingray family, 

We wanted to let you know what is going on with our summer season. The NGSL sent out the following statement to it's member teams: 

"At this time it appears the majority of the response (from member teams) indicated that they are hopeful and waiting for direction from their respective governing bodies and are watching what National, State and Local Governing bodies recommend as well as the GRPA, USA Swimming, Parent Boards, their  Aquatic Centers and Rec Depts.  The NGSL 2020 Season at present is in a holding pattern as much as the rest of the country.  The NGSL Board has indicated to wait for decisions by the above bodies after May 1st..."  

As a Stingray Team and board, we are in a tight position. Gwinnett County Parks and Rec has cancelled everything through the end of May. They are not giving us a definitive answer on reopening for the start of the season. NGSL is not rescheduling meets as of yet. The board also does not want to hold a registration, or collect a registration fee, until we know what's going on. 

With all this being said, we are going to tell you we are on pause. I can give you a more direct answer after May 1st when the NGSL Board meets again to decide the future of the summer season. I will also have to get more answers from GCPR. 

We do want to see everyone this summer. If worst case scenario happens and we cannot have a summer season, we want to have a end of the summer party when things hopefully reopen (Kinda like our hot dog social.) 

I am sorry to be the barer of bad news. Please hang in there with us and we will let you know more details soon.

How to Help Your Swimmer with Events and Heats at Big Meets

Here's a handy chart on what to write on your swimmer so they know what events they are in.

• Use a Sharpie

• Make sure you write down the correct info:

  • ​Event 

  • Heat

  • Lane

2020 Practice Schedule:

Regular season practice starts

May 29th to July 6th

Monday & Wednesday Nights:

7:15 - 8:15 pm:  Ages 4 to 10

8:15 - 9:15 pm:  Ages 11 to 18

All swimmers must vacate the building by 9:30 pm sharp.  This includes bathrooms, locker rooms, pool deck and lobby. Doors will be locked at 9:30 pm per Gwinnett County

Friday Morning:

8:30 - 9:30 am:    Ages 4 to 10

9:30 - 10:30 am:  Ages 11 to 18
